At the heart of the Audi R8 lies a naturally aspirated V10 engine situated between the axles. The 5.2 FSI engine (Fuel consumption combined: 12.9 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 294–293 g/km) provides maximum torque of 580 Nm at 6,600 rpm. The dry sump lubrication allows the engine to be mounted especially low – which greatly influences the precision with which you can control the R8 in any situation. The special firing sequence of the ten cylinders is what ultimately provides the remarkably distinctive sound.

Fitted as standard are newly designed 20-inch milled wheels in 5-V-dynamic design.
The Audi virtual cockpit: All the information you need
The combination of MMI navigation plus and Audi virtual cockpit that comes as standard is designed to make all functions easy to operate, without you having to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road. On the 12.3-inch display of the Audi virtual cockpit, the focus is on a rev counter around which other performance values can be arranged, such as torque, G-forces, lap times, engine and gear oil temperatures plus tyre pressure and temperature. The MMI control system works with intelligent voice recognition.
Customisation: Exclusive signature
You can help define how your Audi R8 looks from the outside – Audi exclusive gives you the option to have the exterior paint finish in the exact shade of your choice. In addition, you can choose from 10 different matt effect paint finishes. To give contrast to the sideblades, you can add accents in gloss or matt customised paint finishes. You also have the option to put your own clear signature on the Audi R8 through partial matting of a logo or lettering of your choice.
